Bormio Hosts the 2026 Winter Olympics  

Bormio is set to take centre stage during the Milan–Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics, held from 6 to 22 February 2026.

As one of the key host locations, Bormio will proudly host all men’s alpine skiing events on its legendary Stelvio piste, as well as the Olympic debut of ski mountaineering—a thrilling addition to the Games.

The Stelvio piste is hailed as one of the most demanding courses in the world of alpine skiing. Spanning 3,186 metres with a vertical drop of 987 metres and a maximum gradient of 63%, it promises high-adrenaline action and unforgettable moments for athletes and spectators alike.

Bormio has already proven its Olympic pedigree, having hosted the FIS Alpine World Ski Championships in 1985 and 2005. Its inclusion in Milan-Cortina 2026 marks a new chapter in the town’s rich sporting history.
